A Captive Wildlife permit may be required to keep or possess an exotic pet. The list of exotics includes, but is not limited to, monkeys and apes, reptiles, lions, tigers, cougars, panthers, bears, elephants, caimans, alligators and gavials. A Venomous Reptile permit is required to possess certain reptile species (see http://myfwc.com/RULESANDREGS/Rules_CaptiveChanges.htm for more information). A Conditional Species permit is required to capture and possess conditional reptiles, including certain anacondas and pythons (see http://www.myfwc.com/WILDLIFEHABITATS/Nonnative_ConditionalReptiles.htm for the list).
