De-odorize. Keep cages, litterboxes and beds clean by changing the bedding or litter daily. Light scented candles before showings.

Keep them Safe. Remove all pets when an agent is bringing people to your home. Enlist a willing neighbor or friend to pet-sit. Consider using pet daycare during your listing period. Even small pets (guinea pigs, hamsters) should be taken out of the house during showings.

De-allergize. Vacuum and dust daily, especially in the rooms where your pets live.

Fix-it. If your pet has chewed or clawed furniture, walls or floors, make the appropriate repairs and then declare the area off-limits.
